iTunes introduced its own music-oriented social network called Ping earlier this week which features Dave Matthews Band as one of the launch artists. Labor Day Weekend at the Gorge & Special Merch Items
For the fans planning to spend Labor Day Weekend with DMB at the Gorge, we wanted to let you know that we have a few special merchandise items in store for you! First, we are setting up a special poster stand featuring very limited quantities of posters from most of this summer's shows. Second, we will debut a few new items such as limited edition Gorge jackets, beanies and the always-popular Gorge posters featuring a unique design for each show. Last but not least, we will also have a few new items to premier including copies of the 2010 Summer Tour program signed by photographer C. Taylor Crothers. Dave Matthews Band Adds Stop in Argentina to South American Tour
We are pleased to announce that DMB will be adding a show in Buenos Aires, Argentina to the October South American Tour. DMB will perform at Luna Park in Buenos Aires on October 14th. A presale for American Express cardholders will begin Monday, August 30, 2010 through TicketPortal. The public sale for tickets will begin on Sunday, September 5th through TicketPortal.

The event will take place in New Orleans on Jackson Square prior to the kickoff of the NFL's 91st season opener between the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. In order to be selected for the casted audience, members must create a free account with the casting company 1iota. Farm Aid announced an expanded lineup today that crosses genres for its 25th anniversary music and food festival on Saturday, October 2, at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Kenny Chesney, Norah Jones, Jason Mraz, Jeff Tweedy, Band of Horses, The BoDeans, Amos Lee and Robert Francis will join Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews at Farm Aid 25: Growing Hope for America. Farm Aid 25 will be an all-day festival and celebration of music, family farmers and good food and will again feature HOMEGROWN concessions—family farm-identified, local and organic foods. Farm Aid’s HOMEGROWN Village will showcase hands-on activities that give concertgoers a chance to meet farmers, get their hands dirty and learn how family farmers are protecting our land and water and connecting us to our roots.

The NBC show will be broadcast live from Jackson Square and there will be simulcast coverage of the 60-minute pregame show which will air from 7:30 – 8:30 PM ET on NBC and NFL Network. The live pregame broadcast will also be available via NFL Mobile only from Verizon.

DMB Returns to Brazil for 2 Performances in October
Dave Matthews Band is excited to return to Brazil in October to perform a concert in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo. Dave Matthews Band will perform on October 8, 2010 at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro and on October 10, 2010 at the SWU (Starts With U) Festival in Itu Sao Paolo.

Bama Works has just pledged a $265,000 challenge grant to the Building Goodness Foundation to help construct a trade school in Thomassin, Haiti, for Haitians of the Port-Au-Prince area. Bama Works will match all donations dollar for dollar up to $265,000 to help raise the estimated total project cost of $530,000 to construct the school. The facility will provide instruction in construction trades as well as other related skill sets so desperately needed as part of Haiti’s sustainable earthquake recovery. Tickets for the Dave and Tim show will be offered to Warehouse members in advance of the public on sale date. The Warehouse Series 7-2010 ticketing request period will open at 6:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 3rd and will close at 12:00 pm noon ET on Monday, June 7th. The ticketing request period is not first come-first serve; all members have the same chance of being randomly chosen for tickets. Warehouse confirmations will be posted by the end of the day on Thursday, June 10th. The public on sale for the Canandaigua show will take place at 10:00 am ET on Friday June 11th Public tickets will be available through cmacevents.com, ticketmaster.com, charge by phone 800-745-3000 or at Ticketmaster outlets. The Natural Resources Defense Council Presents Music Saves Mountains concert. This fundraising concert will be held May 19th at 8:00 p.m. at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. 1996 was an exceptional year for DMB with the hugely successful release of Crash; an extensive North American tour, a Europe tour and HORDE Festival run plus a performance at Jazz Fest, SNL and Letterman. DMB performed a great show at the University of Texas, Austin in October of that year which we've selected as the next DMBlive release. The setlist features a fairly even representation of Crash and Under the Table and Dreaming. Highlights include the #41 opener into Say Goodbye featuring beautiful flute work of LeRoi's. One of our favorite parts is Recently>Water Into Wine into Typical Situation. The Austin show features a solo acoustic double encore by Dave of Little Thing and All Along the Watchtower and represents the last time Dave performed Watchtower solo at a full band show. The entire show has been digitally mastered and is available in its entirety at DMBlive.com.

The Hope for Haiti Now live performance album is now available through iTunes and contains the video of the entire two-hour telethon and the studio collaboration “Stranded (Mon Amour Haiti) - Version 1.0” by Jay-Z, Bono, The Edge and Rihanna. Dave Matthews to Perform in “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief”
Dave Matthews will join a host of artists that will come together in New York, Los Angeles and London to perform as part of a global telethon to raise much needed funds for the earthquake-wracked nation of Haiti. The two-hour telethon, the most widely distributed telethon in history, will air on most major networks and cable/satellite channels on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:00 pm ET/PT and 7:00 pm CT. Featured performances include Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Bono, Jay-Z and many others. In addition to the musical performances, “Hope for Haiti Now” will feature more than one hundred of the biggest names in film, television and music supporting the cause with testimonials and by answering phones during the telethon. The event will be live streamed online globally across sites including YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, CNN.com and others.
All musical performances will be available for purchase for $.99 per song through iTunes beginning Saturday January 23.
